New inductees:

Joe Sakic
Mats Sundin
Pavel Bure
Adam Oates

Notable omission:

Brendan Shanahan

And of course others have omissions they feel are notable such as Pat Burns, Paul Henderson.

Pretty solid crew IMO. Personally, I would have Shanahan in over Bure. Bure I would put in - never. But Reno and I have debated that and it looks like you win.

I'm sure Shanahan will get there soon.

Does the opposite for me. Makes me feel young. These guys were all playing back when I used to pay attention to sports and actually watch some games. I know these guys and how they played. I feel current when we talk about these guys.

Hearing people talk about the playoffs in recent years with like 3 people I have even heard of - that's what makes me feel old.

Brendan Shanahan:

3 time Stanley Cup Champion - 1997, 1998, 2002

Mats Sundin:

Tied-21st in career goals (564, shared with Joe Nieuwendyk)
33rd in career assists (785)
27th all time in career points (1349)
First European-born and trained player to be drafted first overall in the NHL Entry Draft (1989 by the Quebec Nordiques)

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.
