Hello big timers,

I've often wondered why you have multiple positions on one game. You'll see someone post that they are on x with +7 +7.5 and +8. Is this because of limits that you are only able to bet so much on position, but kelly tells you you need more than the limit? Thus you wait for the move and then re check your edge will be smaller and keep betting?

When you are chasing steam it is impossible to hit multiple books at the exact same time the steam moves so you end up with different lines at different books.

Okay what if I'm a modeler and I do the behavior above?

Okay what if I'm a steam chaser and I do the model above? Don't you normally bet steam when it's a point off. So why would I keep betting the movement? Is this when a movement occurs and I'm staring at the board and it keeps dropping in front of my eyes?

Limits/residual value.

Say a book posts a prop at -110 you think should be -200. You can re-bet the max as long as the line has moved, and every max bet moves the line 10c. Given the small limits, even with a relatively small bankroll you are gonna want to keep betting it several times if not all the way into the -190's.

Once your roll gets bigger, and especially with the types of wagers i make (lines that are not WA in big markets) bet size is usually as much as I can get at a given number and not dictated by kelly.

Thank you durito. I appreciate it and that made complete sense!

Maybe one day I'll be in those shoes.
