Wanted to start a thread for any picks or info. Boner, what are you doing for the Derby?

Saw the post positions yesterday. Baffert is likely going to win another one. Fucking douchebag
 
Was gonna put this thread up too. I have a buddy in Brooklyn who throws a party every year.

Gambling wise I have about a grand in various adw. Honestly I need to avoid the tri and super. I've hit the tri before and not even made a profit on the race.

Prob gonna hammer the exacta, bunch of $50 straights. Omaha Beach is the best horse in the field, but obvi anything can happen. Also like Game Winner, and unfortunately Improbable. Not a Roadster fan. Underneath I'll put a couple longer horses, By My Standards and Cutting Humor for sure. If it comes 1-2 with some faves well so be it. But I'm chasing a mid-high 4 fig payout. Not trying to win a $2 $60 exacta.

The restaurant I worked at as a kid sent everyone to Saratoga once a summer, boss gave us $20 (and took us to dinner if he won). Once had a coworker run up a high 3 figure day from just the $20. Her system - "bet the prettiest one."
 
I know nothing about horse racing but watching Triple Crown races on TV is so friggin exciting. I want to watch a Triple Crown race at Westgate someday.
 
Tron, watching a triple crown race at a sportsbook is fun. Major downside is every amateur bets that day and if you are betting the earlier races, the lines are insane. Getting a seat is impossible unless you get there hella early.
 
Omaha Beach out, makes me like Game Winner more, maybe a little Improbable. Not a Roadster fan. Also, I was about to reverse on Cutting Humor... I heard that the ultra-fast Sunland Derby was due to the track being like concrete... Then Mike Smith gets the mount.

Had to bet the ML favorite Bellafina. Wanted to be other races but I’m stuck at work. Who you have Boner?
 
Haven't bet it. Maybe I'll tail and hope she gets upset. Been busy all day though I did bet against newspaperofrecord (blindly for action, $2) and hit the exacta. I'll try to check in tomorrow but will be running around. Interested to see your picks for the card as they come, BOL brotha.

My horses all sucked. Huge exacta payout. Hope that goes for tomorrow as well. I’m feeling longshots tomorrow

Looks like Caspy and I both like the 3 and 10 and 13 as long shots, while I like additional long shot 14. His "fave" is the 8, while I'm not anti that I like the 16 better. Also I've added the 5.

Notably, were both anti-7. Lots of people are jumping on board this one, especially in the slop.

Yeah, I’m not big on Maximum Security because the horse really hasn’t been challenged in it’s interesting path to this race. In a field this large, I’m not sure if this horse doesn’t get an early lead, if it can win.
