Where to hid your possessions if you ever need to go mobile/job interview or the such..

Where to go when the public buildings are closed for the day...

lots of hurdles people without homes have to overcome that we would not think about

Great video and God Bles

I don't know if Jeff needed much help. They should have picked someone with a mental illness and fewer than 8 sleeping bags.

Don't be threadcrapping in my random act of kindness thread you cunt.

As I mentioned in another thread there is plenty of assistance available in Toronto for homeless people.

They get healthcare like every other citizen and there are city run and church run (Salvation Army) shelters with enough beds for anyone on the street. Also plenty of soup kitchens and drop in centres that provide free meals. Toronto is an excellent place to be poor/homeless.

He chooses not to use the services available.

Didn't mean to offend, plommy, but I think I have a valid point.

I believe they picked the most affluent homeless person in Toronto because he was easy to talk to. Guy was able-bodied, had a successful panhandling business, a nice jacket, a heated grate, and 8 sleeping bags.

Couldn't they have found someone who was having a rougher time?

You Americans and your fukkin conspiracy theories.

I don't disagree with what you're saying. If those guys wanted to help a more hard core homeless person they should have headed down to the bridge over the Don River at Queen St. They would have found a few rougher characters sleeping there.

Or maybe that's as bad as it gets for the homeless in Toronto.

Pretty sure when I was there I saw a homeless guy campaigning for mayor and making a pretty compelling case for himself.

Told us all to go home and masturbate. I would have voted for him.

US homeless and Canadian homeless is quite different. Main reason IMO (Wally) is because homeless people here are eligible for medical care like everyone else. Also, there are lots of programs to help them. From soup kitchens and drop in centres to shelters or the out of the cold program run by multiple churches and synagogues in the city, the homeless here have options. For whatever reason they have many choose to stay on the street over accepting the help offered.

When I was in NYC in 2004 I was saddened by the homeless I saw in broad daylight. Picking food out of the trash to eat.

I bet he drives a BMW on the weekends and an Escalade after his shift is over at night.

Hahahaha, I remember that. We were waiting in line to get into The Phoenix.

Guy's name is Kevin Clarke and he has his own Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Clarke_(politician)

I like how these guys are so proud of themselves for buying a guy a hot dog and a haircut. (In exchange for a soul spilling interview) Canadians are so silly and respectful(?)
An American bum would likely tell these guys to fuck off, and rightfully so.

wait, was that actually Kessel?

That guy knows how to work the system. He's not stupid. He's an ex-con, ex-drug dealer and ex-teacher. Sure. This guy also probably drives a nice vehicle and has a full belly when he goes to bed at night.

The Jeff dude seemed more real with most likely some mental issues. I liked Jeff.

No wonder Canada's homeless have it so good that they import international trim. Watched a Youtube video showing a French woman, without a dollar to her name visiting her homeless bf. The plan was to live in a shelter. When the immigration officers refused her entry, they got a volley of abuse and spit from her.
