Monkey one example we are talking about is a person of faith who believes that their god is the only one in existence therefore no other god couldnt exist (in their eyes) which in turn places lesser emphasis on others beliefs on what constitutes "god" (personally think the whole concept of god is nutty at minimum but thats another thread at another time)...

Many studies have also linked religious people as having increased levels of racism (i know, stats can be manipulated)...

Monkey, what would happen if you ever tried walking into a mosque??

Is "Religious Liberty" still used to justify racism?

 No religion is not another form of racism although that is very typical xpansive leap.

Religion is religion. It is a huge thing and intolerance is just one possible variable within it. A vast amount of religion has nothing to do with intolerance.

But if we are focusing on the intolerance part, still no. Racism and religious intolerance are two different forms of intolerance. Racism is about race. Religion is about religion. (Homophobia is about sexuality, misogyny is about gender etc. etc.)

Many similar characteristics but they are all forms of intolerance, not each other.

Religion is a form of racism in the same way that the Winter Olympics are a form of football.

MC flapping his wings once again...Knew you couldnt resist

Could write a 10000 word response here but will instead focus on a few key points:
# Religion is able to escape the melting pot of PC as its not accountable to anyone but itself. I mean, besides basic common sense about how to treat your fellow man (which you dont have to be religious to understand) what does religion actually teach us that forwards human development as a whole?

Form a purists perspective i agree with what you said. However, you nowhere in your response did i see you take into account the ability of human beings to manipulate and misconstrue original meaning and turn it into a narrow minded agenda (which the church is expert at on multiple levels. No different than politicians)...

Sorry pal but your point about how one is not exclusive to the other is misleading for without one (intolerance within religion) you wouldn't have the other (racism) therefore the argument could be made that they are mutually exclusive (again take away the human element and id agree with you).

Muddy, what form of football are you talking about here (ie soccer or nfl?) because the last time i checked NFL games are played in the snow and if it were a global sport then im sure it would be played in the winter olympics (see what i did there)...:chickendance:
