Needed to write a check of mom's account. Have no checks...usually not needed. I usually write checks for stuff out of my account and am reimbursed. NBD. But this had to be written off her account for tax purposes.
I call the bank yesterday to see about ordering some counter checks for pickup. They say we have to come into the branch. I ask if we can do in the drive thru so mom will not have to come into the bank. They say yes.
Today go to Wells Fargo drive thru. Now they say we have to come in. I say "she can't WALK" (indicating mom who is in car beside me) I ask if I can come in and teller or someone can come out and talk to mom. Nope. She has to take possession of the checks INSIDE the bank.
So I am forced to walk my 88 year old mother who is all hunched over into the bank over an icy parking lot/entry way. They have no wheel chair there for use (like everyone else in this down does) so it's a long walk to the teller line where they finally do pull up a chair.
Once inside and we get things going, they were very nice. I know there are rules, but usually in this town, people look the other way on stuff like this to accommodate people...especially long time customers...especially old people.
They are lucky she didn't fall on their property. Assholes..
