Lot of work arch. No doubt you will have a boiler with no AC. Probably old cloth wiring too. What area?

When the last time you changed your furnace filter...how bout your humidifier pad? Do you have your AC all tarped up in the backyard....you shouldn't.

We don't have a humidifier but change the air filter for heat/ac for sure every 2 months! Should do it I guess monthly but always forget!

House...My garage door won't shut. I thought I could pull the emergency cord and put it down manually but won't go down at all. It has been up for a day now..I think the spirit hand did something to it.

Pulling the cord should do it...sounds like something is wrong mechanically rather then electricly. I would start by looking at the rollers on the track. Or maybe your cord is not releasing all the way. Pull on a 45 degree angle towards the back of the garage. Pull once hard and fast.

What's with the AC unit tarped up mean?

People who use a cover or tarp to protect their ac from snow or rain in winter months just lock in moisture and corode electrical components. Best way to protect it is with a piece of plywood and a couple of bricks.
