Hexy should go find Chelios and put a celebratory beating on him just for fun.

It shows they value Hextall enough to want to keep him. Other teams with GM vacancies were calling to interview Hextall.

As long as Clarke, Holmgren and Snider stay out of Hextall's way, this could be a good move.

Snider has been great... Puts money out there for the GM to spend. You cant blame an owner who gives them unlimited funds. You were probably loving lecav move, now you hate. If he somehow plays good next year you will love. Don't tear an ACL jumping on/off.

Please. Thowing good money at a bad problem is NOT how to get things done.

Snider over reacts rather than thinking things through. Nearly 40 yrs without a cup proves my point.

Easy...the Flyers are playing golf right now while the Rangers moved on....THAT's the problem.

Flyers are a mediocre team at best.

They still have no real leader on the ice, have no one to properly set up Giroux and no solid defenseman.

Goalies alone do not win Cups and nearly 40 yrs without a cup proves the point.

Oh I totally agree, mediocre. But you cant blame a GM. that's my only point. G needs a winger- Kane? They tried to get Bobby Ryan, cant blame GM.... Goalies sure can lose you a cup chance. Is montreal better then boston- nope. is carey price playing unreal- Yup. 2-1 Montreal in series.

I pray they do. I have nothing but respect for Mr Snider but since the (forced) signing of Bryz, he's become the Al Davis of hockey.

I'll take anyone other than Holmgren at this point. You can only suck for so long until you get fired from your job (errr or promoted?)... You could have given the job to a homeless bum in Center City and I'd have been just as happy.

Snider keeps Homer, but moves him out of the personnel decisions. Smart move.

They all serve at the lap of Bobby and Ed. As long as those two are still involved it will be a revolving door where young talent is shipped out, in exchange for aging veterans who are way past their prime. Its been the Flyers MO for how many years now?

Homer has had incredible drafts. Great trades. 2 horrible signings. Had the b*lls to fire a coach after 3 games. Lets not forget that. Love Hexy though!

Honestly, nothing is going to change. Bobby Clarke and Ed Snider are still calling the shots from behind the scenes, everyone else from the President down to the team trainer, and including the on air staff, are all just puppets.
These changes energize the fan base for a little while, and then either Snider gets frustrated and fires someone to feel better (Laviolette), or the person asks to be let go (Hitchcock) because they can not take the brow-beating any longer from someone with no track record of winning anything since the Ford administration.

So, it goes Snider (Chairman), Holmgren (President - a title that didn't exist before), Hextall (GM). How is that different from today, when it's Snider (Chairman), Holmgren (GM), Hextall (Assistant GM / Dir. Hockey Ops)? Just sounds like a couple of raises.

Philadelphia is hosting the Draft next month so Flyers have to put on best organizational face.

Holmgren known as one of the best scouting guys. Look at our drafts, very very solid. Its the signings we all hate

Actually, its the lack of signings we all hate. They needed to resign Briere, Jagr and another physical imposing defenseman.

Lack of signings? Jagr maybe.. Briere had a chance to get out, had to take it. but maybe your right briere's 8 goals this year would have been huge! just stop...... Please name the imposing defenseman we didn't sign? i'll wait, since they all grow on trees

OK, who's surprised by this?

I really don't know man, there seems to be a lot of mixed emotions, have to love it from a nostalgic point of view but I don't follow NHL money matters much at all. Berube seems to be a great fit, though like many others I think we could have beaten the Rangers with how well Mason played. Vinny has really disappointed and we need to figure out what to do with him. It was good to see Lavvy land a gig in Nashville, he is a well deserving NHL coach.
