plom on the last trip I did in Italy I lived with an old couple, about 30 minutes south of Livorno, small summer town that gets totally dead in the winter, I stayed there a couple of months during a winter in their duplex, I used to rent the top part of house and they used to live on the bottom, that's how they lived by renting it out during the summer, very humble couple they were in their 70s, we had an arrangement that I'd buy dinner every night so she would prepare a little bit extra, the deal was for dinner only but she always made breakfast and lunch as well, that was 2009, I wonder if they are still alive

I think Italians live a long time, they eat well and have good health care. I'd wager that couple is still alive.

Rouge I'm going back to Saskatchewan to work the rest of the year.

Then I'm taking a trip somewhere, preferably and most likely Europe - which must include a stay in Italia.

Life is short my friend. Life is for the living.

I have to renew my Italian passport and use the fukkin thing.

Luigi Astorino

Luigi emigrated from Italy to Canada at 18 years of age. His wife to be, having grown up together as children, shortly followed. Luigi always held his Italian heritage closely and sacrificed his own needs so his wife and two sons would have roots in Canada.
Luigi worked six and a half days a week in a factory building furniture until a stroke forced him to retire early. He suffered from vascular dementia from the stroke, osteoarthritis of the spine, and more recently, a L4 vertebrae fracture that impeded his ability to walk or stand. God granted mercy and Luigi Astorino passed away January the 29th 2015 at the age of 70.
If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
