can god make a rock so big that he can't lift it?

praying won't help. god is punishing them for their sins with drought...... much like he punishes fags with aids and motorcyclists that don't wear helmets...

they better be careful because if Allah does make it rain... he might flood to punish them.

in all seriousness... sounds like this is a lady dealing with a state that is emergency situations.... and just like when a place has tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes and people's lives and livlihoods are in jeopardy... I politician might say something about keeping people in your thoughts and prayers and asking god to help...

governor prick here in texas already had the lone star state praying for rain a month or so ago. god's answer was apparently, "no!"

God must be busy. First Texas, now Oklahoma.

Bay Bud,

Since Texas has plenty of oil and natural gas and also plenty of sea water why don't they build desalination plants if there is water shortage?

god...:lmao:

people beg, pray and plead for millions of things that never happen ...or they say "go unanswered for a reason"... yet, it only takes one stroke of dumb luck for them to continue to believe and give all the thanks in the world to a "god" ...

honestly, the whole idea becomes more and more laughable when you think about it...

the ex has a patient who is a die hard jesus freak... old guy, late 60s... he told her last week that if she had died in her car wreck, that she would have gone to hell...he said this right in front of her 11yr old daughter... he said that since she didnt really go to church and that she didnt pray enough, god was giving her a strong warning and that she was very lucky he didnt do away with her... where the fuck do these fucking morons come from???
:yousodumb:

i opened archies post because i was actually interested in what he had to say....

arch, no fucking idea why southerners are so into the church...raised that way over many generations i suppose .. i dont mean to make fun of people who are overly holy, but it just seems ridiculous to live your life for something so unrealistic and without proof of existence... its a shame... and this old fucker saying, right in front of her kid, that she would have gone to hell if she died...unfuckinreal man.

arch, i know you have something to do with the church or community or something like that...i think its great what you do with the kids and all... are you a very religious person?

If I was the governor I would ask people to conserve water, I would build reservoirs, I would build dams, I would drill wells, I would build desalination plants if my state has sea water, I would build water treatment plants to treat sewage. etc. When I do all these and it still hasn't helped my state's water shortage I would ask for help. But God needs people to do to their part before giving them a helping hand. Governor sitting on her ass and asking for rain sounds like she is not doing her job and she is looking for someone to blame for and what a better candidate to blame for humans incompetence? The invisible God.

you do understand that texas doesn't own the gulf of mexico, right?

it's not necessarily a water shortage, just drought from lack of rain. how much do you think it would cost to build the desalination plant(s) and then pipe the water from, say galveston up to abilene?

along those same lines, the atlanta area is experiencing a tremendous water shortage. why doesn't georgia build huge retaining ponds to capture some of the rain that ends up running off because of your primarily granite bedrock? don't you find it odd that, on average, atlanta gets more rain than houston yet atlanta is short of water?

mostly the southern bible belt brings those kinda idiots up

why are there so many people in the south that believe in fairy tales?
i believe you're confusing geography with religion.

asking people to use less water during a drought is tough to do... my aunt and uncle in san diego said the last few years the city gave them a certain amount of water to use during the summer months and if they went over that amount, the charge for it was fucking astronomical...(during the fires and shit)... that water is some important stuff apparently

I didn't say that Georgia Governor is smart either. The problem with politicians is they never plan ahead on infrastrucure. There is enough rainfall in Texas, Georgia and any other state but no one builds dams or reservoirs to collect it. Then when the shit hits the fun and it doesn't rain they ask for God's help. The mentality is if it ain't broke don't fix it. In my line of work we always ask for bridges and schools to be replaced because of poor structural condition. So unless the bridge collapses and people die or unless the school is levelled by a tornado they won't replace it. We have a school that was levelled by a tornado a few months ago and now they want to have drawings ready and build it before the school starts. It's like why don't they plan ahead? Only when disaster strikes they find the funds to build something new and it costs the taxpayers twice as much because it has to be expedited.

what makes it especially tough ray is when the general populace is asked to conserve or face fines/heavy costs all while the fountains at city hall are in full operation or golf courses in gated communities are still lush and green from water they're buying from the same source. it's sad that we've never learned about this over time. you can't just keep expanding a city's tax base by pushing suburbs further and further out all while turning a blind eye to having resources like water to support it.

sharp post...

isnt there a big stink over the water in Lake Lanier and where it goes?

there's probably a stink over the water in every lake in this country, senco. we've had one here at canyon lake for a long time, and it still amazes me how many people don't understand that water is actually owned and controlled by a corporation.

Yes Lake Lanier was built in the 50's as a reservoir. Back then there were not that many people living in metro atlanta. The counties around the dam were sparsely populated and there were farm land or forest. Now the area between the lake and downtown Atlanta which is 35-40 miles apart is filled with suburbs and a more than a million people live around it. So unless they take water from the lake there is not enough water for everyone. But the lake is a federal lake and it was only built for recreation and not to be a water supply for the suburbs of Atlanta which didn't exist when it was built. The problem is if they don't release any water from the dam the Chattahoochie will dry out and there won't be any river going to Alabama and Florida anymore. It's a mess.
