Does anyone have any good experiences dealing with doctors?

I’ve had beef with them for awhile.

Watching the series Dopesick reinvigorated my hatred.

Saw dentist last week. Scammers. They use reverse psychology. The cleaning lady says I need a dozen fillings. Then doc says “don’t worry I’m conservative, you should be good with 3”. Thanks I better take your generous offer lol.

Saw podiatrist for first time today. Scam. Who the fuck wants to work on feet? Just that notion proves they are going to bend you over. Guy charged $70 even with insurance to give script for Meloxicam.

Orthopedic a few weeks ago. Scam. Guess what script? Meloxicam. I’ll admit the PT sessions afterwards were beneficial. But they want to do 30 sessions, when 6 is good and you can replicate exercises solo.

Meloxicam seems to be some bullshit anti-inflammatory.

Haven’t researched yet, but pharma salesman probably push it similar to Oxycontin.

Is working on teeth or feet worse?

Scam industry.

good mourning brother

fake doctors - all of them

Podiatrists are doctors, but they don't go to traditional medical school. They have their own schools and professional associations. They also have "DPM" (doctor of podiatric medicine) after their names instead of "MD" (medical doctor).

That makes sense.

The dude was actually funny and cool, but I could tell something didn't seem professional about the experience.

So he's basically a glorified masseuse/psychic.

Too often I know being negative with posts so going to stay positive. Had the BEST dentist ever for years in NJ after some one and done episodes for years. Dr Ip, think Korean or Chinese but all around good guy and best results ever!
.
First time in office every patient is Asian and no English speaking. Doc and recep Asian but speak English. The receptionist very friendly but first time doc sees us, it like he's looking at us like WTF are these people doing here. LOL. Found all techs under him were more or less students working for him. He did of course all the heavy work.

We got along great talking silly shit and he was into heavy sports gambling. MrsM I think has had one cavity, maybe 2 her entire life. My mouth a mess! Last time there before going to FLA he didn't even charge me for a cavity filled. Probably because he told me one time the per tooth profit from my visits could be the highest ever. LOL.

We miss the banter back and forth with Dr Ip and Christina the recep. MrsM even on visit back to NJ went to see him for her cleaning. She's had issues with throat and other inner parts where he has even given her samples that have relived her problems. The guy was better than some specialists she went too.

Yes.
My current doctor of 7 years is from Michigan (crosses border every day to practice in Windsor), very thorough.
Always following up with me and making sure all systems are go.
US healthcare obviously a scam compared to here otherwise American docs would stay home instead of coming to Canada to work.

dentists on the other hand is like life - some good - some bad.

like with anything - they will upsell to make $

always shop dentists

I got this last week:

Reminded me twice (once for the appointment they canceled) that if I cancel it cost $75... but they canceled on me with 4 hours notice.

Only a $50 cancel fee down here in hillbilly country.

Nah, its still better here.

No way I'm sitting 9 hours in waiting room with a bunch of socialist hosers.

In general it's pretty shitty industry considering the stakes.
I've dealt with many "professionals" over the years with my father. There are definitely some super sharp on top of things people involved, but they are in the minority.
You basically have to take everyone's opinion into account, sort through the bullshit, and make the best choices for yourself.

"Medical Industry Racket" "Its still better here".

ok prettyboi compelling argument.

I think if it truly was better there then there wouldn't be so much complaining by Americans about the system and lack of coverage.
Every Canadian citizen (and legal foreigner) has healthcare in Canada and not just emergency care for gunshots etc.

It fucking sucks.

I pay $300/month for fucking nothing.

My left quad muscle has been in pretty consistent daily pain for 8 months now. I'd love to go to a doctor, if I believed for a second they'd do anything besides waste my afternoon, charge me $75 and tell me to keep taking Tylonel and to lose weight.

Or God forbid they take it seriously and want to run a few tests and I'm out hundreds or thousands of dollars because my ~$3500 annual insurance doesn't pay for dick until I reach my $7000 deductible.

My only shot at ROI is I fall off of ny 5 story balcony to the pool area two floors below and am mangled beyond recognition. Then my hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of reconstructive surgery would cost me "only" $12000 or whatever my out of pocket max is. What a deal!!

 the insurance thing is a total scam.
#1 rule in America is nothing happens unless somebody can use that thing to profit and fleece/bury the public. Gridlock is the best thing we have going for us

These cocksuckers are even going after the postal service
