Worst cop ever does worst thing ever for several minutes while being videoed by like 12 people

You watched that video and came away blaming him?

Man.

Fuck you, Dave. I kinda figured you’d be the asshole to say that.

If you’ve read this thread, you know how I feel about what happened (but you took your ball and went home for a while so you missed out).

I was just pointing out (after seeing the newly released full body cam video for the first time) that Floyd was asked several times to sit in the back of the police car. Should I go back and watch it and count? It’s probably over 20 times.

OBVIOUSLY the cop who knelt in his neck murdered him.

But would he be DEAD or ALIVE if he’d listened to the requests to get in the back of the car?

If a guy is not being overtly violent there is zero excuse for him to die in police custody. I dont know if he was or not, I dont watch snuff films.

How can you weigh in on this specific conversation if you didn’t watch the entire body cam footage?

Always straight to the fuck you's and name calling. Cool.

When you say "It’s a shame George Floyd didn’t get in the police car the first 25 times they asked him to", it infers that he made an active choice to ignore police orders. He was very clearly having a panic attack. It doesn't matter if he was asked once or 50 times. He's screaming to the officers that he can't breathe. He's having a mental episode. He wasn't being difficult for the sake of being difficult.

You always post things that infer something and then back-peddle. "It was a joke", "take your ball and go home", "fuck you", "that's not what I meant". Cool man. What did you mean? If you aren't blaming him at all and agree with literally everyone else in the thread that he was having a panic attack and wasn't willfully denying orders, wouldn't you make that point more clearly saying "it's a shame George Floyd had a panic attack" or "it's a shame this poor guy freaked out" or "it's a shame he was claustrophobic"? You chose to emphasize his ignoring the multiple requests.

I'm not saying that you think the murder was justified... I know you aren't. I'm not saying that you think he got what was coming to him, I know you don't feel that way. But you are saying he could have saved himself had he "just listened", right?

Or I guess I'm just the asshole. Whatever.

It starts by typing words and ends with pressing post reply. There i just did it again.

But seriously. I know that guy died in police custody and I know its my opinion that its unacceptable for someone to die in police custody unless they present an overt danger to life or bodily injury to the officers or others. I BELIEVE based on what you post as your takeaway from the video that all it shows is Floyd ignoring repeated requests from officers to sit in the car. If it showed him acting vioently you would have said that since its a much better justification for his murder than "he didn't listen".

I dont need to watch videos of the gas chambers to opine that nazis were fucking terrible.

One entity is doing criminal things, probably on drugs, prob with mental issues, prob having a panic attack. He's doing more or less what a rationale person would assume a person who is faced with going back to jail would do. It's certainly not something most police officers don't see many times a week.

The other entity in this situation, out numbers the criminal entity, they get paid to uphold safety in the community, they are trained in descalation, they have weapons both lethal and non lethal, handcuffs, vehicles, radios, observers letting them know the criminal entity doesn't appear to be breathing....

Only one entity in that situation failed to act in a way that is reasonably and rationally expected in that situation. And again they are PAID, trained, and swear to act in that reasonable and rationale way.

Did the Democratic Minnesota DA hold back this evidence from the public to strengthen his narrative?

It's hard for me to imagine though that these officers are some kind of unique case. The kneeling part maybe. But I gotta assume the way they approached this guy, gun pointed, hands on wheel, no respect, no question, no explanation, has to be par for the course. That needs to change.
The correctional system being an absolute for profit hell hole, that needs to change. Anybody rational should be weary of cops just because they have that power to put one away, primarily at their discretion.

So I can’t believe these 2 things simultaneously and not be considered a monster?

-The cop that knelt on Floyd’s neck is a dirty cop who deserves a murder conviction.

-If Floyd gets in the back of the police car as requested (something that happens thousands of times a day around the United States without incident) he would be alive today

aww, you're not a monster Tron. :console:
Boner is a monster, everybody knows that

Can we just have RJ change your name to:

TRONSTER

I'm scared of the trial outcome. I doubt the murder charge is going to stick.

Tron, that's fine the second one is probably true but it's immaterial in a conversation about his murder, no? If floyd went to church every Sunday and spent all his free time volunteering at the old folks home he'd be alive as well (he'd be volunteering) but you're not pointing that out.

So I guess you're just pointing out factual events? Or do you have some editorial content to add? If its just facts I'd like to add - yes I agree and its a shame the cops didn't ask him to get in the car another 2500 times cause if they had he might be alive today.

Reno monsters have feelings too.

Matty youre right. DA better take what's achievable here. Guy is gonna get 7-10 for some lower homicide and he'll be out in 5.

Floyd’s hypothetical church activities and volunteering have nothing to do with his encounter with police.

Floyd refusing to get in the back of the patrol car after being asked to do so (lawfully) several times and the cop kneeling on his neck for 10 minutes (unlawfully) have everything to do with the encounter.

Ya’ll don’t agree with me. I’m fine with that.

:amazing:

Black jury will convict no question. If they start taking him to white suburbs because he can't get fair trial etc, it's gonna be Rodney King all over again

So wait I get "Fuck you Dave. I knew you'd be the asshole" and everyone else gets "Ya’ll don't agree with me. I'm fine with that" with a little basketball twirly smiley?

Tron let's hug it out man.
