WGN did this neat little trick by creating WGN America (like TBS Superstation). The pricks at Directv determined that i"m not in the Chicago area anymore and give me South Bend feeds instead of Chicago local feeds (2,5,7,9,26,32,50). I disconnected my cable because of the directv and don't have an antenna anymore. I will have to see the rebroadcast of that on the WGN America channel on Saturday at 4.

Bottom line - I would love to buy a directv box that gets chicago locals. I would have no problem paying for that.

Can't you buy a little HDTV antenna?

You can even make one from some clothes hangers

Yes. I have one at the apartment in Toronto. I think it will pick up 25-40 miles if you have a decent line of sight. We get over 20 channels on it in Toronto and some of them are from the US including ABC,CBS,NBC,PBS. You may have some access to content in Halifax but you should google it to make sure.

Once you get it plugged into the TV tuner, just search for channels and away u go.

I remember ryne sandberg appreciation day when I was 20....Fkn buddy had us late to the game...they already had the yellow corvette they were gonna give ryno parked outside the bleachers....No security I remember running 2 fingers down the length of the car as I walked by.

Shed a couple tears in the park that day....Almost got kicked out for underage drinking too....Unrelated of course.

I'll have to look into this. What kind of antenna do you have? I assume it's inside and not on a balcony or anything like that. I'm really curious and like to know more about your setup.

It was a good watch. You might like George Will's new book "A nice little place on the Northside." Some similarities to the WGN special but Will goes on some tangents (like a chapter on beer for example). Some readers might find it annoying but I found it entertaining.

Saw him in the booth when he sang the 7th inning stretch a week or 2 ago..The guy was extremely dry but if you liked the book maybe I can give it a shot.

I liked George Will when he contributed to the Ken Burns "baseball" documentary. If he's not your cup of tea you might not like the book as much
